Little Acorns has been based at Boxmoor and Warners End Community Centre in Hemel Hempstead for over 40 years. Now in our own self-contained building, overlooking Northridge Park, the Pre-School offers a warm welcome with a separate entrance lobby, a brightly coloured playroom, kitchen, toilets and outside play area.
We are open Monday to Friday term time only. We offer sessions from 9am and pick up at 12pm,1pm,2pm or 3pm.
We are registered and inspected by Ofsted, and cater for up to 24 children per session ranging from the age of 2 right up until school age at 5. We are registered to receive funding from the Local Education Authority for 2, 3 and 4 year olds. We offer 15 hour funded places and 30 hour funded places.
Tapestry
At Little Acorns Preschool we use Tapestry that is an easy to use and secure online learning journal that helps staff and families celebrate their child’s learning and development. It builds a very special record of your child’s experiences which is done by observations using photos and videos.
The Tapestry platform enables these memories to be kept as a permanent record of each child’s unique journey. All information held in the platform is stored securely and can be downloaded and shared as required. Parents or carers are able to view their child’s progress, the activities provided for them, and how much fun they’re having.
Tapestry also gives you as parents the opportunity to upload photos and videos from home of your child's newest milestones and achievements to exciting days out. We love to see what you get up to at home as a family so please make use of this exciting new online journey.
